I just can't believe this, the solution is actually working, after a night with too much coffee, trying to figure this very bizarre problem. Running ESX 3.0.2 and after removal of the Shared folder in VMWare tools (win2k3 R2 - SP2), the trust validation finally worked:) Just wonder, how did you come up with the idea that it was the hgfs.sys driver that caused it?
